@ism+16qVqXBc "be loyal" lol. Tell that to everyone getting SRD'd, canned, and having their pensions taking away

@doe+16qVqXBc I would not call it a total brain drain; there are some bright spots. No arguing that automotive has not been the employer of choice for twenty years (yes twenty years!). The problem is the company is way too restrictive to let people develop their ideas. Smart people are not rewarded for their capabilities; b—s— artists are. Also if you are not female or a minority, there is not much incentive to go the extra mile; so that too has hampered many bright minds from exploring possibilities. These are fundamental issues companies like Tesla do not have to contend with which is why they are making strides.

As for this CFO departing GM, I am not surprised. She was given the keys to the castle way too early to appreciate them and be loyal. This is a position more suited for someone who has spent a career in Finance, not a mid term career individual. She was brought in due to Diversity, not experience.

Not true. Transfers are still going on in several different areas.

Could be true. I know we are having a lot of problems hiring talent. Managers don't want their people to get transferred internally and not be able to hire replacement from outside in time and at the pay rates mandated by HR.

On the bright side, there may not be any more layoffs. HR is repenting that they (Jimmy Hacky) went a little overboard in SRD, and they dont want to lose any more people and be in a position of not being able to hire from outside. And if they hire at higher pay rates, the whole purpose of SRD fails.

As it is looks like, no one wants to join Ford, in fact are trying to leave. Was reading a great article on CNBC today - Departure of GM CFO Dhivya Suryadevara highlights ongoing ‘brain drain’ problem for auto industry.
