Hi,
I am hearing about a good few Dell people being WFR'd, but not one ex EMC employee. Is this just the reverse takeover moving forward?

To those that are pushing their chests out that Dell 'bought' EMC, Dell was less than half the size of EMC when they spent $67 million on EMC. They went into debt to buy EMC.
EMC agreed only because of the usual investment weasels pressure.
DELL has been failing miserably in the enterprise space, that's why their AEs now tag along with the former EMC AEs, trying to get their foot in the door of enterprise accounts dominated by HP.
They have been pummeled by HP for years. I see it my accounts, and just recently they are starting to buy DELL servers to compliment new EMC storage.
That's BS. A former EMC field engineer was laid off yesterday here in Atlanta
To the person saying no its not a "merger". Please go google the definition you low IQ buffoon.
If you want to talk about Legacy Dell and Legacy EMC: It's rather the other way around, because the Legacy EMC colleagues have on average a higher annual salary and the company saves costs, not jobs.
What ever is in this thread, ignore. There are both Dell and EMC people in AE and speciality roles. There are WFR's in both Dell and EMC people and we are all now part of one Dell
The issue isnt now who came from where, but what we do next in a world that suddenly just flipped modes to a complete new workstyle that doesnt require massive datacentres anymore.
How much severance does Dell pay when layoff in US? 2 weeks or more ?
Dell may have bought EMC but clearly EMC is running the corporate and enterprise sales teams. The former Dell AE's were pushed to speciality sales roles as the EMC reps took over the account relationships. In some cases the Dell specialty sales teams have little contact with the new EMC account executives.
SE and Partner Manager WFR'ed last week in central Europe. both ex-emc arm.
If you’re still calling folks legacy Dell or legacy EMC you are living well in the past. These companies blended years ago, YEARS ago, not months or weeks ago. Might be a reason why some folks are posting here vs working.
Duh, it was not a merger, it was a purchase of EMC, make no such mistake.
And yes, it looks like EMC people are taking over everything and it's not doing anything good for good old Dell.
No, Dell acquired EMC. However, we are now one team. So, "those stuck in the past" comment is like saying Hillary is still crying over the election. We have merged, just like the other companies Dell bought. Dell bought EMC. Everyone one at DT have teams impacted for WFR. Billy, JB and ELT are doing a good job during this crisis.
Yup. Time to get over which fish ate which and realize the companies are indeed merged. Any folks who are still stuck in the past should consider moving into the future or moving out of the way so the good folks at Dell Tech can work without conflict.
uh no. Dell bought EMC. It was NOT a merger.
i know 2 x legacy EMC folks locally that were let go last week
Not true. One of my coworkers and a friend who both were legacy EMC Sales have been WFRd. S—s, but it is what it is.
It’s hard to teach laptop sales people who sell on price to sell solutions on value. That’s why the legacy dell folk are getting cleaned out.
That’s just silly.
You are all Dell employees. There was a merger not a takeover. It’s been more than a couple of years now. Dell has been as been better than most at retaining talent but The face of business Is changing. Unfortunately good people from many companies, not just yours, are losing their jobs around the world. These are tough times. All will be better at some point. Please pray for anyone who loses their job and be thankful for anyone who remains employed. These are all persons not brands.
