Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Will Windstream still have exclusive use of Uniti fiber in the ILEC territory ?

During bankruptcy, there was talk of Uniti getting the right to lease dark fibers to other in the Windstream cable they own. This was to be in exchange for Uniti investing a lot (>$1 billion) building fiber for Kinetic.

Does anybody know for a fact what the final resolution was? Will the Windstream ILEC still have exclusive rights to dark fiber in Uniti's cables within its territory?

Triple Net Lease - WIndstream is supposed to maintain the fiber is correct. WIndstream then brings in contractors to do the work as do most telecoms. Windstream owns some fibers and UNIT owns the majority - depends on territory.

Yea ok good luck with that. Hope that Kool aide tastes good in Jonesboro...
Remember this next time y'all are escalating due to a fiber cut on i40 because your FTTT deversity you sold is pure B.S. to call Uniti rather than Windstream.

False again, outside contractors make repairs to the Unity fiber. Windstream owns nothing, outsources repairs and outsources network installs. Own nothing and fix nothing themselves.

Still isn't Ritter's and it's Windstream responsible for it's repair and upkeep so eat $h!t... Also pretty sure the check for that fiber still is made out to Windstream...

"Among the settlement terms, Uniti agreed to invest up to $1.75 billion in growth capital improvements, including "long-term fiber" and related assets in certain Windstream CLEC and ILEC properties over the initial term of the new leases."
