New hires were never protected...
Even though the survey is far from accurate or even useful - it’s interesting to see. For those individuals who are impacted by this, it’s a comfort to see you’re not alone. Sort of softens the blow.

In the past 5 years, I've seen many people 2 year be let go because of poor performance. This predated covid. Quit being spoofed lies that new hires were not let go in the 1st 3 years of working for ExxonMobil.
The new hire layoffs should be shocking to everybody. Not because it might not be the “right” thing to do for the corporation because it probably is since we hired so many people the last few years, but because it is a change in policies and guidelines, something Exxon is very proud of. New hires shouldn’t have been rated in their first and second years per Exxonmobil HR policies. Once you start changing your policies to suit your own needs, you lose integrity. This is what this corporation has been built on: trust, integrity, and expertise. Once you change one thing is shows the lack of integrity and the world ( employees, shareholders, investors) start wondering what’s next. Trust in one another is our most valuable asset as humans ...
This survey is not an accurate account of representation for demographics on who is being let go. Also, not really surprising new hires are being let go.
This survey is the only source of information that is available. I do find it useful, I could see how the company does not like for any of this information to get out there. The new hire lay-offs are shocking to me.
This is a bad survey for trying to understand demographics. There is no useful information to gain from this as it's dependent on people coming to this site in the 1st place.
