Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Why people should not quit right now

The more people they can depress and mentally break into voluntarily quitting the less they have to pay for severance and the more they can lift and shift to other positions at 9.8% less pay and get production out of them without paying for "nothing" which is what they consider severance.

This right here. Allstate is doing its best to save as much money they can - and getting people to quit on their own beats both layoffs and firing them. Please don't give them that satisfaction! Don't leave this horrible place empty handed when you can get at least some kind of a payout for the c-ap they are putting you through.

That's half a year in severance you just threw away. That's just irrational.

It mentions if they offer you another position and it’s within 50 miles and There is not a 10% differential that you would have to take the position or else lose your severance?

Stay as long as you can if you have lots of tenue. Our RCL said yesterday the number to be laid off will change as people move positions. I read: as people quit. Think about it. They drag this on so you quit and get another job. Then no severance and to pay and then layoff someone else. If you only get a few weeks of severance, than save yourself. But if you're getting a lot, then make it go to the very. last. day!

I would agree however, if I had just a few years service I would definitely take a guarantee and health insurance over severance
