Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Try to digest this

The ridiculous Allstate "metrics" claim overall that we are overstaffed at a .48 rate in claims. Meaning we have what their programs say is almost twice as many people needed to do the daily business of claims. So they are essentially saying that each claims employee before cuts should have been able to do twice the amount of work per day. Or that the 8 hour claims employee is actually only working about 4 hours a day, 10 hour claims employee 5 hours a day, and so on. Do you feel this to be true? By this they are probably cutting claims in total by 40-50% when all is said and done and the claims employees that are retained will be expected to do double the work as they are doing now per day at the same rate of pay based on what a "machine" says. Allstate is devaluing At least in terms of its claims employees 50%. Of course a lot of this will be covered by the slave labor in India.

I can only imagine how bad claims will be if it goes to India. I get nothing but complaints about the total loss team in India.

The employees to claim metric comes from the rest of the industry is doing, and Allstate is one of the least efficient companies around. Company acquisitions in particular have shined light upon just how inefficient and incompetent Allstate management and employees have been, doing less with more, and there are already processes in place that Allstate can just straight up substitute since it's been acquired. Since claims aren't going down anytime soon, staff is being adjusted to be in line with the industry rate. People are complaining about how poorly Allstate have been? For better or worse, this is is what tightening up the ship looks like.

I have a litigation pending of 350 and have been drowning for 3 years. It used to be 450. So now I'm supposed to handle 700?! Yeah right! Claims is the one area we should be putting all these "redundant" employees. Claims is the face of the company. We are who talk to the customer, solve their problems, answer their questions. Not IT, not HR, not training, etc. Claims. We should be treated like kings and queens. Instead it's well you could have done this or that. If you mess up a claim, you lose a customer. How how is doubling the work of an adjuster going to somehow allow for Best Most Amazing Customer Service on the Planet? I don't even know if I want to stay and deal with that.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could truly believe that "there are too many people" in claims. Only a total imbecile who has never done claims in their lives could believe that.

THERE ARE TOO FEW ADJUSTERS!!!

People end up working 50+ hours a week just to not be hopelessly behind. Truly, if what you are saying is accurate, then Allstate is being run by absolute mo–ns who probably got their education from Everest or ITT Tech.

I have no idea how the work will get done. People are squeezed as it is. Even right now, with the downward driving trend, the repped group never slowed down.

Leadership was not held accountable and now thousands are impacted.
