Thread regarding Belk layoffs

REFUSE to work thanksgiving, CALL OUT!

if belk cuts holiday pay for thanksgiving and keeps the store open, all associates and managers MUST protest, call out sick, stage a walk out, do something!!!!!! Don’t let these greedy b–tards take time away from your family!!

In order for belk to be open thanksgiving, they would first have to have stores FULL of stock which means they would have to pay the vendors back, I doubt that is gonna happen

I just can't see belk having a big sale on thanksgiving this year and hopefully they will be closed also. Lots of business are not opening this year on thanksgiving.

I don't oppose this idea at all.

Check your Workday and verify. I just posted what I thought I read, yet not shared by management as part of new “One Belk.”

Generally companies, especially industry leaders, when a change to employment policy is made, it is addressed openly; verbally as well as in writing when amended.

Technology is the new corporate world. Accepting, but why have I never received acknowlesgement of benefit changes, yet all and required forcompany mandated “workshop training?”

They will make it sound like it is against the law to miss or call out on a holiday, but it is perfectly fine. Associates known as "Consultants" (you know the ones with the cheap business cards?) often get free passes on holidays anyway.

Not recommending this at all, but from what I've witnessed it is extremely effective:
If the manager gives you a fit about calling out, show up anyway and vomit on their shoes! You will be allowed to go back home, no further questions asked. That occurred in our store on Thanksgiving evening right before opening for the night sale, 2018.

Kinda gets you right there, y'know?
