When asked we were told due to COVID there are no plans to allow people into the building to get our belongings and we were pretty much scolded that we did take all our things with us when we had to bug out in the spring. They just said there was no plans to allow access to the buildings and that they were not going to pay for shipping belongings to everyone and that we should have planned better. WTF?

Guys. Chill. A friend if mine quit and his last day was near the beginning of August. He got his box in the mail last week. I imagine when the curtain drops and there's alot of people needing to get their stuff, they'll go the drive through route like they did in Diamond Bar when the office closed a couple weeks ago. Everything in/on your desk was packed up and they scheduled a time for you to come pick up your box.
I think you are right tho, there's no plan in place yet. And if there was a plan, do you think they'd really share it with us now? Getting our stuff is going to be handled by local leadership and they are almost as clueless as the rest of us. As of now, unless you put in your 2 weeks, you don't need your stuff. Once we know who's staying or going, then maybe they'll let us know. They know we need our sht and they know it was never communicated to take all of our sht back in March. I hate them just as much as the next person, but i wouldn't waste time on rumors that will just stress y'all out more
Our highly paid facilities people go in and out of the building, why cant they pack up our things? I was NEVER told to take everything from my desk, and I want my property back! We are threatened with lay offs as well as theft of our property? What next?
Don't expect to be able to get your things, a third party will be going in to remove items, items that can be identified as personal will be boxed at a time arranged for each employee to get their box of items, if it say "Allstate" it is company property and it will be sent somewhere.
I heard that we were supposedly told that the day the sent us home, to take all of our personal belongings. I was never told that! I also heard that they will not be allowing us back in to get our things, and they will be taking our stuff and donating it to Goodwill.

I took everything except a few books. I reordered them and submitted expense. Do what you want but I doubt you'll be allowed back in. Unless you plan to pull a peaceful protest. I'm not happy about what is happening but ...

I do not believe this to be true. I know real estate is working on many plans to go back to work and/or allow folks to get personal items
