Thread regarding Ford layoffs

"The morale in the company, as we test it or pulse it, is the highest it’s been in decades"

Per Hackett yesterday.

Agree? Data doesn't lie?

@7uad+16iRGLZE speaks the truth. We were threatened by our LL5 that heads would roll if bad pulse scores were received. This is the same LL5 that advised all LL6 to tell all their reports that if any bad behaviors were reported to HR there would be a price to pay (implying termination).
Ford truth=hide all bad behaviors and cover up any inconvenient truths.

Pulse data is full of noise. Morale is terrible.

@7uad I worked at another company and we called the 'Pulse' the AES - Associate Engagement Survey. There was one question in particular - Would you recommend you friend or relative to work here? - and management were always 'surprised' when that answer came back above 80% as a resounding 'NO.'

The upper levels (anyone from LL5 to LL2) of Ford management actively manage if not threaten their employees not to give bad pulse scores. While some questions on the pulse ask about the company as a whole or senior leadership, and not their workplace environment these so-called leaders tell their employees that bad scores on those questions reflect poorly on them nonetheless. The pulse is such a sham. And duh it is not anonymous in fact negative pulse answers from several Marketing and Sales employees were used to terminate several years ago.

I have been at Ford for over many decades. All I can say is the morale and confidence is the lowest since i hired in. the management bench is the worst i have seen. I would not go to war with any of them. I am not racist or s-xist but back then the management may have not been perfect. but they understood what people wanted.. Taurus/Ranger/Explorer/Expedition/ F-Series. when you walked in public you were proud. Competent management is lacking. AM was the last true leader, Vision and a plan. does anyone know what the vision or plan is anymore? AM plan was the same for a UAW guy to the broker on Wall Street. simple and easy to understand. Now we blow money on stupid stuff like the train station and still do not understand what they are trying to do with that? first it was a tech center to rival silicon valley now they are talking apartments! This is a kingdom not a publicly traded company.

Pulse is NOT anonymous. Anyone who clicks on a personalized link in the email; heck even non personalized link on a company issued personal computer should know that it is NOT.

As regards morale, it just CANNOT be anything other than low, when you've had 3 CEOs in the last 5 years (2015-2020), employees have lost capable colleagues of years very visibly due to age and higher salaries they commanded, there were absurd promotions, and only 1 out of ~20 C-suite execs from 3 years ago still remaining in the company.

And JH is a DT guy?? I did not know design thinking also included lying through the teeth.

Pulse is a joke. The minute they stopped it from being anonymous was the loss of any value. The brown noses are all to happy to submit hearts and roses responses with hopes their linked CDSIDs will win them some type of reward for towing the line. People with honest feedback are likely not to respond out of SRD fear. Ford has created a climate of fear and dishonesty. Jim Hackett and leadership live in a bubble with sycophants that spend the days stroking their egos.

What a crock of sh#t! Morale is the lowest I have seen in over 20 years. If they offer a buyout or severance package I am gone!

@tob; Farley will be the next motivational speaking CEO....!! I bet he lives in a van down by the river. The comedy in this freaking company ceases to amaze me. Can’t believe it took this long to unload big Jim.

If I do take the pulse survey I give answers that make it seem that every thing is just fine. Never again will I be on one of those committees to resolve the pulse issues! It became one of my objectives yet the solutions that were needed required action way beyond my pay grade. Nope, not doing that again.

If that is the case glad to hear they know it's me. I want out - but I want out with cash. Be it severance or an offer makes no difference to me.

For the record I still don't think your CDSID is tied to the pulse you fill out - I made it through the last SRD and was hoping to get tapped.

Yeah that was a lie unless you only polled the moral of managers.

"Mistakes" Sometimes the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Oh and don't fill out pulse survey's honestly. That goes into every SRD data feed.

@zvn+16iRGLZE which is why I give middle of the road as my lowest score with no verbatim. Pulse is a joke. If it was a Scranton with no identity i would believe they are using the data to provide insight. It's just a crock.

LMAO ever since people know their survey answers are being attached to their CDSID and GDIA is analyzing the data — the pulse results have changed. Heck my boss explicitly told us that none of us better have anything bad to say. Rather than lie I chose not to respond to the pulse survey. I received a tongue lashing for that choice and was told that not responding was considered dis-engagement and would place me on the next dispatch list.

So what a crock — the morale is the worst I have ever seen in three decades.

BTW they are also capturing your IM and email to build a map of everyone’s social network , frequent topics of conversation, and “mood”.

pulse survey was always manipulated with free lunches and team building events but those don't work with extreme lockdown global depression conditions

Ford Pulse data results shows that the moral in the company is at the lowest ever. That is why leaderships are going through a lot of training trying to get Pulse back up.
