You could likely unionize rather easy given the right attorney. And it would definitely benefit the majority of the employees in the short term. But speaking as a member of a union, unless you get the right representation in the leadership positions of your union, they won’t support you long term.
Unions turn political quickly, and though it is illegal to do so, deals are made without member consent a lot. Zipper clauses were invented solely for that purpose.
If you want to unionize, find an idealist that is willing to figuratively burn everything down for a minor win. Otherwise you will just be paying money to have someone tell you to be happy with the p–p-sandwich you’re given.
In the end, you will be fighting with each other rather than your employer because most people in this world don’t care what happens to others as long as their lives don’t change. Trust me on this, you either find someone that can energize everyone to take a stance against both the employer and the politicians or you will end up losing and/or treading over the corpses of the fallen to maintain the status quo.

Express is the dumping ground for everything that is Allstate. We deserve compensation for the extra work and stress that is going to be heaped upon us very soon. Hell will look like Club Med compared to what we’re about to go through for a measly $15 per hour.

Good Luck with all that. Corporate will squash that like a bug. They have zero tolerance for that talk let alone action.

15 years ago CSLs were forced to attend a 2 day seminar on how to keep employees from unionizing. I can tell you that is one of the company’s worst fears but I’m afraid it may be too late. Good luck.

Claims office workers have needed a union for years. Now could be the right employment climate for people to finally vote for one. With all the jobs in the country going overseas I hope it’s not too late. Norma Ray holding her sign here: UNION

It’s going to be miserable for those who made the cut. Allstate India has job postings that just popped up. Interesting.
