Is severance based on base pay or total OTE for sales. Can’t blame Dell. No one wants to downsize really.... if this was your company then you’d be forced with making tough decisions. 6% cut means 94% kept jobs.
In this tough world, I’d say that’s pretty honorable.

Accrued vacation time payout varies by state. For example, Massachusetts requires employers to pay unused vacation time. I believe there are 9 states in the US that mandate it. Hope that helps.
Former Dell employee in Canada. Was laid off in July along with 10-15 others in Canada. Can confirm the severance is based on OTE for Sales (or what they call TTC - Total Targeted Compensation). They offered 3-5 weeks per year of service which will differ from the US because Canada’s employment laws are much tougher on businesses. They did pay out all accrued vacation as well.
only accrued vacation
They do not pay out the remaining vacation balance you have upon separation.
Does anyone know if they pay out any remaining vacation upon layoff?
i am aware of females in sales that were let go.
with $38B plus in Debt and no sales, Dell needs to restructure beyond the 6% globally.
Total OTE. Take the package and run. Best thing that can happen to you!
You bet it’s a step in that direction.
Just curious- they had sent a letter highlighting their goal to gain 50% workforce of POC and women. Is this their way of cleaning house to racially address their desire?
