Hackett, The Furniture Guy, just talked about facilities, new furniture, conf room re-arrange, Huddling around white boards, campus transformation, etc. Was ridiculous to have half the people in conf room huddle around white boards while other half on webx could not figure out what was going on in the room. So many boards and tons of papers pasted on walls and boards. Good enough chairs in conf rooms getting replaced with brand new chairs for no good reason. Corona stopped that nonsense. Meanwhile, mid level leadership, filled with incompetent sycophants, followed the suit standing in front of white boards pretending that it helped collaboration. Their behavior still old school - hierarchical and grade level sensitive. Not inclusive to promote good ideas and meritocracy. Instead of changing furniture, if this guy had changed the people in mid level leadership- cultural transformation could have happened.

And as one of his last far-reaching directives, Hackett, with the board's approval, has decreed that all furniture and cubes removed from office buildings during this Covid Collect and Clear will be sc-apped. "If we need to buy furniture in the future, we will do that. Ford employees deserve new furniture." (from Steelcase). Wonder what Ford stockholders would think about that strategy??
