Sears in Laredo Texas is officially closing on Sunday August 9th. The last Sears store in South Texas. 🤠
You mean there ARE 35 not there's 35. And both would be wrong as there ARE actually 34 non-closing Kmarts. Brooklyn NY is a Sears, not a free standing, full-line Kmart. They just sell some silly pantry items in their basement as a novelty, much like Macys sells some chocolates at Christmas, but nobody confuses them with a full line supermarket.
There's actual 35 stores remaining, but that's splitting hairs. The point is, there's incessant talk of Kmart COMPLETELY folding. That hasn't happened ... not yet, at least. All your stats show is Kmart is a microscopic shell of its former self. But it's not gone ... not yet, at least.
From over a couple thousand Kmarts down to 34, it does not sound much like a rumor.
Emphasis on the word "rumored." If i could count the number of times there's been open speculation of Kmart completely folding ... It will fold when, and only when, Eddie wants to fold it.
Probably won't have any announcements until after August when they are "suppose" to end their furloughs. At that point it is heavily rumored that Kmart is going to fold up and probably Sears as well.
