What Motivates the CEO and Board?

Anyone has a guess as to why INTC became a SJW company?
Could it be that the large fund managers for public employees, like CalPERS, demanded it?

@6jnl+16djSzqw That would be a pretty good book, but likely will never be written in the open, would be canceled mid study. Anyone else notice post of similar vein - how is diversity strength as well as SJW Intel honesty) - are disappearing on thelayoff.com . There was a real good discussion I think 2 weeks ago I can no longer find. We can't be brutally honest in regards to diversity or have any sort of discussion, only allowed to take the "supported" narrative, the one that I don't see supported by any actual data other than platitudes.

There are brilliant people of all walks of life, but SJW quotas is only a small symptom of the overall problem at Intel. Our biggest problem is a lack of integrity and honesty, too many messengers ahve been k–led sadly. We can't approach problems openly, and we lost the one senior exec with the stomach to do that (Jim Keller). We will continue to gently slide behind our competitors unless we can honestly admit we are no longer world class and have lost focus. First step to overcoming a problem is admitting we have one and openly addressing it. Folks, the diversity thing is all, but a smokescreen. I know many great minorities–with stellar qualifications and inventions–who were gotten rid of by managers who only had high school diplomas and dumb as hell. Just because these so called managers have the right skin color, they discriminate at will and nothing is done to remedy the problem. Those so called diversity talk doesn't ensure that these brilliant minorities get a fair treatment. And the so called FOCAL is RIGGED always.

Silicon valley politics, plain and simple. They’ve always wanted to shove their views down everybody’s throats, and now it’s en vogue to do so. No surprise the sh—tier CEO’s we’ve had decided that politics is more important than products and execution. Books will be written that use Intel as the #1 example of why diversity hiring doesn’t make you stronger.

A large part of it’s PR. Another part of it could be that Intel needs some substantial improvements in its culture. There are a lot of systems/people at Intel that inadvertently encourage backstabbing, and a lot of people respond with, “Well that’s how it is.”

Compare the Intel Board to AMD, TSMC or others and you know how we ended up with PSO, BK, and Bean counter Bob as well as the outside hires like Murthy and others.
