In some of the previous posts people said that they moved on and found jobs not in O&G. I saw on LinkedIn that some ex-SLB guy started a job with Spacex. Awesome!
Would you guys share your ideas on where to go next? Those people, who found new jobs, what industries did you go to? I've been applying for jobs since May. No luck so far.

88 or generic relation, or even somebody and you have some kind of relation. may be walking dog in the park, their dog like your dog. you still can. use that relationship to get in. im not making up. i see it happen.
88 = HH?
i can name 10 more for you. but you will get nothi g just by applying over internet. just go out and talk to your friend to see any of them can. get you in.88
Look in the space program. Jacobs, Dynetics, Blue Origin, SpaceX, SAIC, Axiom, etc. They are all hiring right now with the Artemis program ramping up.
these guys are so proud of 10 year plus, it nothing when you have to make career change. you can have 20 year but not know anyone just make you look good on paper and a wool in real world
Assuming you are a mechanical engineer. Go for jobs that are hardware based, high reliability, and structural. I’ve seen people go to tech but it’s mostly hardware based design. SpaceX is an option because it’s all basically pressure vessels. Anything consumer products is going to be hard because SLB is not a high volume production environment. Try reaching out to alums in companies you wanna work at get your resume sent to HR. Forget triggering the ATS with resume keywords, use your networking skills.
Worked for slb for over 10 years. Working for Tesla right now! Want to give a big f— you to slb!
People with different background, automotive, AE and OG came to tech and became high level manager with their 10+ years experience. If you worked for so many years and still think about connection as the first thing for career change, you r infected by the big blue culture and should not infect other people any more. No excuse for mediocrity and incompetence.
Tech companies if you can. Many people applied and failed for years. And workload is almost doubled there as well as your income. check out on levels.fyi
2vcu+16b6suf7 Suggestions may have been valid pre Covid but now with travel restrictions especially if American or from current hotspots your international opportunities are almost non existent! Also with the “depression “ of current activity and even IOC’s transitioning to locals and pulling expats back to home country - good f’ng luck getting an international assignment!
First you really need to tailor your resume to score high with the ATS. One resume fits all doesn’t work.
Second, transitioning in a different field at this time you might want to do some contract work, there are several legit companies that could help you there offering a good pay and good benefits, just not much time off.
If you have a good set of skills and good education, several tech pay way more than SLB and offer better long term prospects.
Halliburton
Amen.
There is a group on LinkedIn called Who is hiring right now, check it out, multiple job openings, if you are willing to move. I don’t know your specific background, but biomedical industry is booming right now. Upstate NY for example
Other comment is blatantly incoherent. The problem with O&G with young engineers is that the industry is too uncertain for these people to become skillful at anything. These OFS companies have to reduce Capex significantly to protect themselves, so its difficult to get onto valuable projects
they have not tell you the complete true. at this point ,,if u just apply u not gonna get anything. must be somebody from inside get u in. u should learn that in slb. that gonna be the mind set for next 10 year good luck
