What happens if I call in sick and miss then 1:1? Is Dell forced to postpone my layoff?

If at all possible, I end every year owing a day or two. :). Use all your vaca and PBA. All of it. They won't feel bad when they kick you out the door empty handed. So don't feel bad taking your time away.

I don't think you get paid out for your PTO balance, so use it up and take the axe when it is gone!
it depends on local country law.Most EU protects person on sick leave from being fired as such they'd need to reschedule to after your return to office. Check your country regulations.
