SLB business plan: selling donuts

That’s all over now. The change has been so profound that the chief executive officer of BP Plc recently found himself hyping the profit potential of another commodity. “People may not know—BP sells coffee. We sold 150 million cups of coffee last year,” Bernard Looney said in an interview in August, referring to beverage kiosks attached to the company’s fuel stations. “This is a very strong business. It’s a growth business.”

BP selling coffee, slb selling donuts. Perfect combination

I never thought it will go this low, released two years ago and so far I am dong excellent, have enough savings for the kid to go to college, luckily I saved a lot during my IM Days.

This is not a show off, but to let you know that life after release could be much better, just be prepared to be uncomfortable and you'll do fine

Hang in there

Sad to see that the company has gotten even worse than it was after the layoff in 2015. I'm not sad for the company itself but for the hardworking people that depend on it. I will say that there is life after SLB and I've done pretty darn good since I was laid off. A blessing in disguise!
Hang in there!

Palo Alto is already working in the new CoffeeBrewing module of our Delfi suite. It’s all going to be integrated, web based so our customers can order from their phones.

Imagine the wisdom of the SLB they didn't waste time trying to buy BJ but rather snookered H into squandering off 2 years of operational focus and several Billions of cold cash. Not being an insider to the SLB except back to the Dowel days...they wore patches on their coveralls that said KHA. Anyone remember that besides my Chicken Fry eating bud???

All the experienced engineers were either retired or left over the years. The ones in charge now are just moving around and repackaging components and calling it engineering so they have plenty of time to work on there hse requirements and next promotion or move.

SLB is micro management at its finest. Engineering will always avoid a straightforward answer about anything except when it comes to their advance projects. This along with an entirely ran HSE/HR approach is why SLB failed, and continues to do so. Now, shoving the Paris Accord down our throats and more gender equality and inclusion and digital only will surely be the end of SLB. Get ready for the big sale off if big oil is stupid enough to want to take it over. LIBERTY already stated they do not need all the dead weight with their donated segment.

Exactly never have I ever seen so many HR people that can’t even answer a simple question. It’s a HUGE joke in the industry!! I agree with the donut comment, they would still get it wrong!

"Schlumberger would employ 7 engineers, 4 HSE people, 3 HR, 1 Quality Engineer, 4 buyers 5 team leaders, 3 supervisors, 2 IT, 4 Champions of woo, an Engage2Excel leader and still forget to put the fricking hole in the middle - sugar coating would be a hit and miss affair."

I think you seriously UNDERESTIMATED the number of HR personnel that would be involved, I would think 10 at a minimum, and for true "representation', at least one for each engineer, one for each HSE representative, one for each 'team leader', and so on down the line, to make sure that diversity and inclusivness is fully represented.

And, you also forgot to include the "partridge in a pear tree" to follow the "Engage2Excel" person in your list of committee members.

Lastly, and most important, information like this should be treated as a closely guarded secret, lest Jeff Miller, your arch-nemesis at Halliburton hears of this and copies it.

That may be true, but SLB would have some excellent OI’s, RIR’s and PowerPoint presentations showing how they are correcting the issues. Lots of slides showing red lines with red numbers, followed up with slides showing projections with green lines and green numbers. The shareholders would be very impressed. “It doesn’t matter that the coffee is just Green Mountain coffee rebranded and sold for 5x the price”, they would say. “Did you see those slides? Did you see those red numbers followed up with the green numbers? This coffee’s going to be the next big thing. They’re calling it their new Caffeinated Transformation. This is going to be big. We’ve got to get in on this.”
