Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

MA employees - you are entitled to your unused Vacation!

If you are in MA and are part of this layoff, remember that we are legally entitled to unused vacation in this state. The paperwork and the HR representative said it was 'forfeited' but that is illegal. You need to INSIST they include it. Mine will now be in my last paycheck tomorrow.

Just trying to pay it forward here for anyone that was not aware...

So if a state law doesn't force them to pay out they don't pay the PTO? That's a pretty c-appy policy. Also unless the company is in dire straights right now, laying people off in the middle of a pandemic should be avoided.

I reached out to them and all they did was copy and paste their policy and email it to me. But the policy does confirm that the vacation time is paid out in the states where required and it lists the states. I asked them to confirm the hours would be paid out in my last check but they didn’t respond. How did you get a confirmation?
