In ITO there are a lot of teams where the Ford employees are unable or unwilling to do the work. The supervisor and manager then make a case that contractors are needed as the employees have too much work. The employees then take credit for the work of the contractors on their PR. This is not a new phenomena.
In most groups the smart thing for Ford to do would be to lay-off all the employees as the contractors are doing the work despite what the PRs say.
The supervisors and managers should go as well as they have been practicing this deceit for at least twenty years.

ITO is still bringing in more contractors. The manager asked at team meeting which teams wanted contractors, and now all the teams who raised their hands are interviewing.
It is disgusting as one team has 14 people of which 2 are working hard, 4 are incompetent, the rest are just showing up for a paycheck.

I guess the answer is , it depends. I know in Enterprise Connectivity all the the purchased service contracts are being looked at, and I also know if GDIA they are scaling back purchased services as well as some agency folks.

We haven’t had contractors cut in our IT area, in fact they continue to bring on more contractors. SMH as there isn’t enough work to keep current staff busy.
All of the contractors in our area did take a 20% pay cut though.
