Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Jumping ship

I have the opportunity to join a competitive brand store. Not sure if I should take it. With the pandemic going on, I’m afraid to start a new job only to be terminated within a few months if not weeks. The pay is better than what I am getting now, however, I am not sure how long working for Belk will last. Any thoughts on this?

I recently left my long term position at Belk for another competitor and it’s been amazing. It was hard leaving my coworkers but it definitely was a good move the company I work for now really appreciates their staff and it’s a healthier work environment. Good luck!

Do an online search of the company to determine its' status and outlook. Check out employee reviews on Indeed and Glassdoor, check out how their stock is trending, and any press releases or business journal forecasts.
