At least 25 people were told today that their jobs are terminated. Last day being Oct 9th. Work being sent to Legato.

It is very sad to think that quality doesn’t matter.
Anthem no longer cares if we even do things correctly. I have an email from my manager to "let it go, even if it's wrong". This was in regards to state laws, where Anthem pays penalties if it's wrong. I also find it concerning that my medical records are being reviewed by someone in another country! I'm sure someone high up in the govt assisted that loophole. I do not want to have this health insurance ANYMORE! They reward the stupid and hold back the good ones. Mushroom Management at its best too, lately. Hush hush then WHAMMY. wait one night WHAMMY again. Members have the worst experience with Anthem.
Regarding the “more you KNOW” comment....I believe they have always watched people on the backend. I was laid off/RIF and NEVER got an explanation WHY! I asked but all I was told it was numerous factors. Well...I was never below production, never called in, always a good “team player”! Guess the reason was get rid of my higher paid salary to pay someone in India a much lower salary....to line Exec. pockets!
Anthem has IT contractors in conjunction with your direct leadership remote accessing into the computers of employees targeted for layoff; and monitoring their work activity during a 40 hour week period to evaluate TRUE work volume, loads, and productivity. Legato is taking over parts of Prior Authorization too in Pharmacy. They found someone who can do the menial tasks without the whining and complaining of American employees. How Anthem is able to do this overseas considering healthcare data privacy laws is what I am curious about. That's the real kicker ...they probably investigated some loophole. It's probably half legal.
GBD IT Norfolk, VA hit with layoffs on 09/10/2020. At least two Scrum Masters, one Systems Analyst, and two engineers.
Omg this is too much. All about the dollar. I wish they would tax the c-ap out of every job that went to Legato!!
I was riffed back in February. And yes. Group call is how they do it now. I was laid off along with 10 other people. They read a script that HR had prepared.

This was a big Cost of Care project...I remember alot of lazy a– COC directors leading this. My guess is the project ended or they found a vendor?

My guess... 80% laid off, 20% remaining.. until next round. Bunch of seasoned WGS peeps got the boot in April. Here's COVID oh and here's the door! Sorry.
Can confirm. It was group firing from a call script. Notification? Email with BCC and HR cc'd. With a call in number password and instructions not to share with anyone.

That is how they were told? I am so disgusted with Anthem. It is getting worse day by day.
Disrespectful in the way they did it too. They got everyone on a conference call and let them go, reading from a call script. Then a second call to the people that still have jobs. The leader didn't have enough respect to MUTE the line, so we could hear her reading her script. Right at the important part, there was feedback from background noise! They have raised the production numbers, reduced the documentation of workflows, and pretty much made it impossible to meet goals. Setting us up for failure. Have some respect for the humans that have slaved for you for decades, and have saved you millions of dollars a month! For crying out loud!!! Yes. Millions. Last month was $43M in incorrect payments. Good luck saving that much with Legato! Whatever! Anthem doesn't give a c-ap about their employees! (No, I wasn't let go,but I will be leaving! Stay any longer, I won't have a soul).
