Heard that urgent conference call held this morning where participants were told of Optum layoffs happening today... again no details but those on the call were not part of the group. Any info?

At least you got some direction. All we got was propaganda, pretty lies, and you're doing great work. Coming in early, staying late. Working through lunch with cheapo pizza and corn syrup water. Then they laid us off.

To help raise all those sad us spirits, the american corporation has decided to blast that happy song between the 45min lunch break so that the lackeys can dance, sing, wear a silly wig, scream the mission aims, and decorate their cubicles. The foreigners and boomers will judge who has the best cubicle and give them a $25 gift card to a big box feces house as a thank you for all that hard work. A picture will be plastered to the wall showcasing the winner!
2 state side managers just gone on september 2nd. And a india manage is now running our one group. He doesnt report into our org structure and he has 5 phillipines managers under him. UHG looking to offshore all IT to phillipines it seems.
I have the same title as a new hire PH user and I've been here a while. Like getting dirt kicked in your face after years of hard work.
So sad the company really hates US workers and just want to keep high end executives state side.
That's not right. We're americans. Why are our jobs being sent overseas to foreigners or foreigners with those visas. Who's looking out for american workers??? cant believe anyone would believe that any change would occur accept a change to the unemployment line. Who is looking out for the optum american workers?
Because, it's all about the $$$. They can pay the foreigners 1/2 of what they can Americans. They don't care if the work is sub par, just as long as it semi gets done. I should know, all I have been doing lately is fix what a c-ap job our wonderful India help manages to do. Optum just wants to rake in the big bucks for Wichmann's pockets.

My IT position was "eliminated" (to be sold to the India branch) last Fall. This company is among the worst corporatocratic actors; has not only reduced benefits and pay but also stolen saved money from employees for two decades (reclaimed 10 years accumulated sick time from me in the '00s). Everything is done to make the next quarter's goals with no strategy for real long-term growth and efficiencies. This company guts Ops regularly to support Sales. Best of luck if you still work here–you need it.
