Ha ha. Yeah, none of this tech really exists or is even being used in the field. Our service companies are all much more advanced than we are, and they're at least 10 years behind. Tell me how is virtual reality actually helping us drill a well quicker and safer? It's not. Everything in this video is all gimicky, and provides little value in the field. There are some companies out there doing some great things with tech, but not Oxy. Most of my school buddies at other companies are way more advanced. I saw some pretty cool stuff from Anadarko a while ago as well, but I have no idea what happened to it all. I can't even get a reliable computer from our IT department. We have to be one of the most technically deficient companies in the industry. This video is a joke.
Lol. Posted today on youtube but video was on the main page of the intranet over a year ago.
Too bad RIO got s—ed into SAP, or we might be just a little closer to actually implementing anything shown on this video
Don’t they still have the Data Analytics group?
Most of those kids are no longer at Oxy, and the technology they boast is not regularly utilized if even utilized. A lot of that technology is so 2010 anyways. Show stakeholders something actually cutting edge. Oh wait, Oxy got rid of all that was innovative! Ha.
"At OXY, we're amazed at what our people do everyday"
Like bullying, persecution, victimizing people born differently, Piper Alpha, Maynas Carjenas, Tatweer Petroluem, Thunderball, Elk Hills gas line explosions, Petrolia spills and on and on and on.
Its 2020 - and at Oxy, it still amazes me that this is something to be proud of and that we keep on doing it.
Not impressed by that tech.
The same thing can be done with Microsoft Sam and some data extraction routines from the main database. The real skills are in reviewing the well performance and deciding what needs to be done and scheduling the rigs and crews.
As a non technical office guy, please tell me how many field guys will even use this?
And if that lady doesn't even work for us, why are we highlighting it?
Are we gong to train the contractors to use this or will it only be used by employees?
The talented millennials have all left Oxy. I've seen a few under 40 kids that I thought were good workers and talented, they are gone from vsp or resigned. The millennials that are there now are either naive or just dumb. What does this say about Oxy's current and future??????????
Opening voice over:
"At OXY, we're amazed at what our people do everyday"
Wall Street is also amazed at what OXY's people (VH, BOD, et al) do everyday - and have continually done since April 2019.
Apr 24, 2019 Stock price = $ 62.00 Div = $3.12
Sep 10, 2020 Stock price = $ 10.19 Div = $ .04
Yep. That's truly amazing.
The tech shown is just what the millennial mo–ns are used to. Computers talking to you basically describing what you can get from written reports. No benefit here,
Geeee, don’t know what to make of it. The young lady engineer showcased there is no longer with the company. So there you go, even the millennials are fleeting out of this mess. But less be fair and think tech may get us ahead, I agree. The video ends up with the drone almost crashing over 31st floor, which brings me as to why we won’t succeed!.
LOL some people will praise VH and OXY no matter what (like this OP). #weareoxy
I think you are right, a sole remaining sole trying to keep the company running until she falls dead and Warren sells all the hardware for cash.
