Considering how Exxon treats all of its employees, it's so easy to forget that this is not the norm and that majority of people working here are valuable assets that any company would be happy to have. The moment economy recovers, I guarantee you any one of us will be able to find a new and better job than this place is offering. Until then, stay strong.

I do think we are all special. I have children and in my eyes they are so in that sense they are. Every human deserves respect at least initially. I don't support XOM culture and I hope it changes and comes out stronger but I think the leadership needs to change down to VPs at least.
I'm not mistreated from the company. Only the ones being mistreated were the ones placed in the NSI category. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but saying that exxonmobil mistreats all of its employees is just wrong.
I'm only wishing continued success for this company going forward.

Encouragement for everyone who's job hunting or thinking about leaving: There are still jobs out there in engineering!
There were several posts on the board about people finding jobs already!
I was let go after 2 years with the company. Sure it was upsetting (and I do not condone EM's utterly despicable behaviors), but I started applying to as many jobs as I could, networking, etc, and once the ball got rolling, lots of interviews and offers came in.
Honestly, the skills I learned at EM and the projects I did were very transferable and impressive to talk about in interviews.
So keep your heads up, it's very doable to get a job right now. You'll just have to bear with it for the first few weeks while you apply like a mad man and wait to hear back. Make sure your resume and linkedin look spectacular and I'm sure you will hear back.

@kmt+16Rkg1hg - yes, I agree with you. Unfortunately, most of the people that deserve to be flipping burgers are still employed by EM. I know. I've worked with several and still can't believe that I was NSI'd and they weren't!
Imo. There are plenty of employees that deserve to be flipping burgers for how useful they are... I wouldn't say everyone is a special soul that deserves so much better.
