Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

I got an offer to come back as a contractor mechanic. I'd have to take a demotion to MT2 and an $8/hr pay cut. Doesn't seem worth it to me as I got paid more as an MT1 than what they're offering.

Which product are you talking about? Is it something like a pencil or paper clip? Any real product once been through proper design, development, prototyping, testing and documentation would run way over $150,000. And that’s true with any real companies with decent reputation.

They are hiring. They let too many people go and too many other people left because they figured the were next or were the last in the group and didn't want to do all the work.

75% of workforce are underperformers? Get real! You probably still have the smell of duck butter on your lips.

Most of those laid off are either experienced personnel with higher pay scales that the bean counters think can be replaced with inexperienced at a cheaper price (Unfortunately never works in the long run, costs to much in NPT and concessions)

they are not "Yes people" who are willing to carry out poor choices by management usually in an effort to keep their paycheck and just appear like something good is going on. SLB needs to stop s-xual harassment before hiring more women or compensation will be very expensive.

Even weatherford has been hiring during their bankruptcy. All companies keep posting jobs just to make it look like they are doing OK.
If stock traders saw no more job postings then the stock price will drop because of the perception with those that want to buy stock.

You also have to account for their % goal of women workers. SLB will do anything to hire more women even if the candidates are not qualified for the job. SLB made this a priority goal even though women are not applying to open positions. SLB is desperate to hire more women just so they can say they are diverse.

Schlumberger is full of sh– ! They need épandage workers ! Don't go !

You have nothing to lose by going if you're interested. For better or for worse, this is going to be the future of field jobs. Since contractors are easier to get rid of, the company will focus.more on having contractors as EOs re rather than employees. And this has happened before, especially with Frac/OneStim.... unload a bunch of people and then try ry to rehire as contractors.

If anything it’s OmniForce Solutions looking for Frack operators, not SLB

They cut bonus and pay 20%. Anyone wanting to come back is payed c-ap and nobody wants to work for that offer. They are struggling to fill spots now.

That’s what I’m thinking, it’s a scam... crazy thing is I called the hotel that they’re using to host this and they claimed it was legit they had it booked for both those dates ... I’ve been calling around to see if it’s legit supposedly the position is for equipment operator out of Shreveport, Louisiana when I called Shreveport the number was disconnected I’m beginning to think this is really a scam
