Thread regarding SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. layoffs

SeaPort Lockout

Adding insult to injury, they locked us out of SeaPort, denying us access to our HR/Payroll records.

I got a letter today about policy changes nothing regarding my position and i'm still "active" in seaport. Did everyone get the same letter or what is the basis for thinking the letter is bad? Is there an assumption that a letter about policies indicates ill be let go soon?

Not only did they keep us furloughed for 5 months with no benefits. They take away the severance we deserved for our hard work, complete dedication, honesty and everything we stood for. I worked for over 23 years and all I was worth is 4 weeks. We do not need all the negative comments so keep those to yourself. I have moved on and everyone else will too. I wish everyone the best and you are worth it, so keep pushing forward.

So, looks like furloughed employees received a substantially reduced severance that was adopted days before they were let go.

As for existing employees, there is no longer a severance plan. No benefits are outlined at all. All hidden in the webpage they sent us in the letter. Supposed to trust the same crew that has taken everything away for the past several years. Sure.

The new severance package, from what I've seen on the intranet, doesn't break down how much you get. Extremely vague and pretty much says, you might get money, if we have it. If we do have it, we can take our time giving it to you.

I know a lot of people that were still on furlough and are now panicked about money and their future.

I started looking for a new job as soon as the shut down happened and even though I was brought back I have left for a better opportunity and security.

Talking to some of my former coworkers who are now fired I am wicked p-ss-d. They expect to run all the upcoming events with half the staff. People are already burnt out and overworked. I don't even know how the mechanical staff is going to be able to support operations with HOS closing times it's insanity.

I’m furloughed. I received a letter but it wasn’t a termination letter. It was sent from HR and the letter included various operational updates, including bringing back the ECM’s, attendance updates and the ability to accrue extra PTO. I’m locked out of SeaPort. So yes, I’m confused. The letter was dated September 3rd. It arrived Saturday.

It wont really do much good to complain to reporters. Florida is a right to work state; the company is within their rights to fire everyone. It isn't ethical, especially since they asked for government money so they could avoid covid hardships. Anyone who continues to work there needs to reassess their situation and how things are affecting the public in general. It's partially our fault for working for a soulless company.

I would say if you are locked out of Seaport, you are laid off. They are not going to call everybody. I didn't receive a call either. But will most likely receive a letter this week. It s—s, because I do believe you should have that uncomfortable conversation and inform your employees. That SEAS lack of communication for you.

So since they locked us out of sea port we are laid off or do we wait for a letter of us being let go? I find it weird that they didn’t even tell us..

I am not associated with SEA still beyond the fact I have not yet been called and am waiting on a likely letter myself. I just am trying to give friendly advice that selling your employee tickets isnt worth it. If you want to make fun of it or ignore said advice, go nuts. Its your life in the end.

We should just send our unused tickets to PETA. They'd love free access for a day.

If you completed a ticket order and just couldn't print and have an order number, the front gate ticket windows may be able to look up any pass vouchers.

LoL....If you have tickets and want to sell them please do so.... I’m pretty sure that someone still associated with the SEA brand in trolling these boards. They have no team left to try and find ticket sellers. Investigations has been gutted. They were hiring new ones just last week on the job board while others I presumed just got canned. SR and SeaWorld lol.

I would highly advise against selling your tickets.

I greatly presume they did not axe the investigations team and know for a fact that they spend a great deal of time on researching employee ticket sales. You will get caught and while they may not fire you for it, it doesn't mean they might not be able to try to bring charges against you over it. It just really isnt worth it.

If you didn't print them out yesterday, you have no ability to print out friends and family passes today. HR can not do anything for you.

Remember you can sell your tickets now that you don't work there

I actually placed an order for a friend's and family passport yesterday because I was concerned about this, but I couldn't print yesterday. Today I am locked out of Seaport and I guess there is no way to retrieve that passport which I already successfully got, is there?

As long as you printed them out, your tickets should be valid.

Once terminated you no longer have access to Seaport. You can access payroll records through portal.adp.com , I believe is the website. I no longer have access to Seaport as well. Good luck to you.
