Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Where would you lay off in the company?

I was told Oct/Nov lay offs are coming. May as well make predictions and see what happens.

I hope it’s sarcastic.... the leadership program is only allowed if and only if you are a minion who kissed a director’s a$$ anyway.

The leadership development program is awesome though.

I can't believe we still have Gulfstream University. It's always been a total waste of time. The trainers never know the course content and then get b-tchy over dress code. To add to it, I was over there and saw the aircraft and met with trainers who actually knew what they're talking about, but then I'm told that's all there for Product Support. Totally mo–nic. Let me have more CBT's and OJT's so I never have to go over there again. And never get yelled at about parking again.

Predict November 5th layoff. The 3Q earnings call and the presidential election will be out of the way. The perfect time and reason for the RIF.

How about having a sane clearly defined PTO policy?

They should start out with the employees that have abused PTO year after year. After that is there really a need to have a chain of command that has a lead, supervisor, manager, Sr. Manager and Director? You can also sprinkle in project managers all over the place. Pretty soon there won’t be enough of the hands on employees to handle the work load.

Yeah, you gotta get vendors to pay these days. Place has really gone downhill. GAC used to pay for these things.

“Once Gulfstream issued checks to the phony vendors, Caukin used the funds to pay for his own personal expenses, such as his home mortgage, car payments, credit car purchases and professional escorts, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.”

Lol. Youve made the assumption that she was hired because it was believed she was what was best for the company. It’s 2020 bro. None of that matters. The head hunter that found her, the prior HR VP, the CIO and a few others was specifically told to find females(technically illegal but who’s gonna say anything right?). The CEO of GD sent the orders down to install women at the top. Ever wonder why a new mahogany row seat was created for the the CIO(an overhead organization that has very little to do with designing, building, selling or servicing aircraft)? She is a person with very little IT skill and zero aviation experience? Although it might have made sense to hire a female for the CIO position. Probably less likely to pressure a vendor into paying for top of the line Vegas h–kers like the last one did...true story.
(he was also a diversity hire).

And don’t hate on BH man, he’s part of a group that has been frat buddies since sophomore year. Wouldn’t want to disrupt that happy family.

These are the people you work(ed) for. Enjoy.

Get rid of Amy Ariano. Absolute horrible HR decisions since she arrived.

Many of us have or were forced out. You’re on a lay-off board, not Family Days.

If your not happy with what your doing or those who are managing the company, why not just leave? Can’t imagine that anyone is begging you to stay since your apparently so motivated.

Just be prepared. I was never a slacker. Always the first guy in and last to leave. Gave up weekends and holidays with family for mission critical projects. If it happened to me, it will happen to you. It’s just a matter of time.

100% cut E1s
50% cut E2s
100% cut GH1s
15% cut GHIIs
No MIP until late 2021
No EIP until late 2021
Delay pay increases until November 2021; and not increased retroactively.

I’ve only been to a few sites but yes. It’s that bad unless you’re a bootlicking skater just collecting a check because your frat bro got you a management gig.

Is moral really that bad at all the sites or just Appleton?

You could cut at least half of management and productivity would go up.

Just was talking to a friend in composites materials. We were laughing about wishing we were laid off last time because we’re sick of the c-ap and ready to retire. If GAC offered a voluntary lay-off with the same severance, we’d have a stampede. I know I’d be first OTD and wouldn’t be alone.

I'd start at the top, with the people who ran the thing into the ground in the first place.
