Something needs to be done about this. We have no one to open on the weekend mornings and customers are upset because no one is available to help them. I'm tired of being yelled at because I'm the only one on the sales floor. Its not my fault that Belk can't schedule enough people. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

My store is large and all the managers are required to pick at least 100 items daily. The departments are a mess and our skeleton crew is tired. Tired of grumpy, spoiled, and angry customers and tired of catching their wrath. I can’t run a register and help them on the floor at the same time. No one in mgmt seems to care. My mask hides my “ I don’t give a c-ap “ look mostly.
Yes,what is it about that darn lost prevention office. There must be something good going on in there. It's going on in other Belk stores also. Should not be allowed. To much to do on the floor.
One of the STM's at our store is too busy flirting with her boyfriend in Loss Prevention. How is it allowed for her to go in there and sit with him or whatever else they are up to?
That is so true. It is so hard having the customers constant complaining on top of everything else that's so bad. No matter how bad we are treated the manager says just say you are sorry. And 90% of the time they are unhappy with something that belk has implemented. We can't change what is going on but at least we can understand what each other is going through. In preparation for those of you that are going to say If you don't like it quit. We are all looking for new jobs.
I'm so glad thing's are wonderful at your wonderland Belk. You talking about wanting a post taking down must stay in an office all day or you would not say what you did. Maybe no one has cussed you out , threatened you or your job because they can't get help fast enough. It's happening to us for real and if you think it's so great then go work in a store where it's happening and see for yourself.
Covid19 was the dream excuse for Belk. just remember things were failing for Belk way before covid. Now with only a handful of employees, fewer loss prevention associates, and nonfitting rooms open, Belk can run the store like a Bargain Basement or GoodWill store and have an excuse for doing so. I can’t believe people fall for that fitting rooms being closed for “quarantine” c-ap, that’s hilarious!
Naya-
Somewhat appreciate your hate on Toy’s R Us and Sears. Obviously you do not currently work for Belk. I am a current employee. Toy’s r us and Sears failed 2-3 years ago. Old news and failure of management. For now, as an employee of Belk, I’m choosing to to follow management directives, from corporate to store. Hope existing employees are doing same.
We are so fortunate to be called back and part of team.
Asking moderator to take your post down. Old news and perpetrating I’ll will.
this is how Sears and Toys R Us both operated in the months before they both started mass store closings and bankruptcy. This has nothing to do with Covid-19, it was just good timing and a great execuse for Belk corporate to run the store into the ground before it folds.
Belk is loosing so many associates and managers but they don’t care, they know that they will be filing bankruptcy soon
Our store has only one checkout open until 1215 on the weekends. Most of the management in the store I work at is doing fulfillment. They seem pretty upset when you call or ask them for help. I agree with the post that we are supposed to do 14 things at a time without a break.
None of my 5 Managers sitting in the office .They work as hard if not harder to keep this going .
We all working like slaves.Customers have 2 checkouts until 11:15 and 12:15 on the weekend .
Is a mess. Costumers mad and upset they can’t get waited on and I keep apologizing.
Is so tiresome.
Our managers don't have time to sit in the office...they are non-stop pulling and packing fulfillment orders. Then again, im at a small store, and we only have 3 managers including store manager.
our store manager is always on a “call” or has to go to a “meeting” but nothing every gets done
if it's one belk why don't store managers have to help do anything? they just sit in the office
Our store manager never works nights and weekends and sits in the office all day eating
May I add also that the extended hour on Fridays and Saturdays is pointless. There's literally no one in there after 7. The hours fluctuate so much that customers can't really tell when we're open or not. The Belk ideal of professionalism seems to be one person doing 14 jobs without a break or ever sitting down.
My question is what is the STM 's, MTM's and store managers doing at that time. If it's team one belk maybe they should step up. Instead of sitting in the executive office, talking on the phone, laughing and joking with each other they could be taking care of customers also....oh wait that is below them to help a customer and actually do their job
Dealt with that this morning. Only one on the floor until 12:15. Can't wait till we start ramping up for the holidays with skeleton crews
