I would say the incompetence is consistent between both countries. So I guess the US wins at having cheaper dummies

Why not? It is few employees left in Norway anyhow, the few left is remote managed by incompetent Houston management. It would only put them out of their misery, and leave the scene to a proper company with normal overhead cost. It will not save NOV though.
350 is not enough. NOV needs to layoff all of the people in Norway and close its offices in that region. Norway is a rich country and the govt can support all Norwegians. There is no way US cost is higher than Norway.
Salaris, benefits and costs per employees are much higher in us. Competence and productivity are lower in us.
The fired 350 last month in Norway, is that enough for you?
