Good Afternoon All. Airport Ops here on Saturday. A bummer to have to work, but so nice to not care anymore. Used most of the day watching M— movies on my phone and took a long nap in a high mileage Nissan Altima in the cellphone lot. Was getting texted all morning about not having cars and customers waiting, but i just made up excuses about the waits on the fleet being sold off. Will be watching football all day at work tomorrow. Life not so bad when you go with the flow.
Happy Saturday Ops! RM is home relaxing because we have real jobs that don't make us work on the weekend. Mazel Tav
HAPPY TUESDAY RM!!! Enjoy another day at home doing absolutely nothing!!!!! Should fire you and bring back some car washers!!!!!
Cause they have nothing else to do hahahahaha hahaha. RM is useless.
There must be a lot of people from RM who pay attention to this lol! Don’t show all your cards being so sensitive.
Well there are 2 people from Ops in RM but they both s—
Unlikely any in Ops can do the job in Pricing/Yield/Analytics (RM group), examples of that experiment are fruitless. This explains why nobody from Ops was considered for RM positions. Nobody in RM would last in Ops if they had to be held accountable for actions. Can’t hide behind BS reports. Most were too scared to actually be expected work, and none applied to Ops. Fred wanted zero Ops contact and machine learning to rule the day. His reports bobbed their heads up and down. Ops wanted to control their own destiny, but cant even forecast. Resulting in bickering and huge difference in objectives. No winners and possibly too late to recover.
A quick thank you-
There are SOME great people at Hertz. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with them. I wish nothing but the best for the good people on here who worked hard and made a difference.
This site has made me lol with the witty comments throughout. Yes, there has been terrible events in this company, but there are some good people who are or were there.
The last post referencing airport operations does have much truth to it. There are some great and qualified managers but unfortunately there are also many unqualified dummies running around in cheap uniforms thinking they are something special. My airport location is in NH. Our GM has no skills and can’t speak English. To communicate with us she cuts and pastes emails from our last GM (seriously). We are supposed to smile as if this is normal. Everyone feels she got the job by her bj skills.
This post is getting a little too heated and feel the whining on both sides. Both RM and operations probably have a few bad apple that ruin it for the bunch but there is a group of talented individuals and leadership on both ends.
I think the ones who continue to point blame should be shown the door, this is part of why we’re in this mess is that no one takes accountability and ownership in their own wrong doing.
The company cannot function without both and we need the two to work in unison, nor against each other like these posts are suggesting.
You guys need to grow up
RM team is useless. Get rid of them all. They cry like babies when they don’t get their way. Like to pretend they are more important than they really are.
Airport operations is blotted with ignorant uneducated fools that couldn't find real jobs after graduating from 3rd tier colleges in the bottom of their class. Never met so many wanna be business people that think managing is hiring your incompetent friends, running up the expense accounts with expensive booze, and regurgitating tired Hertz jargon on conference calls. Look in the mirror people, you couldn't find real jobs and a GM at a Chipotle makes more than most AP GMs. You will all be out on the soup lines by March when Hillbilly Paul starts the fire sale. Your linkedin profiles are beyond comical and moving to Avis and Enterprise aren't options either. I guess there might be some opportunities annoying your family and friends selling Herbalife or Amway - you do have plenty of experience with Pyramid Schemes. So long fools!
Perhaps you missed that this company no longer has a heartbeat. So what does that say about the “heart of the company”
To the fool that thinks those that work In The operation don’t bust their a–, you are oblivious to the heart of this company. I am someone from both ends of the spectrum. I worked in operations then came to corporate. I still bust my a– for the field and try to do what I can to make their lives easier. But thanks for giving them a reason to think all corporate employees are scum. Wish they could see that’s it only you.
“Educated people with real jobs...”. You may be educated but you clearly aren’t smart. How dare you Disrespect the folks who generate your paycheck. This is what’s wrong with Hertz. The work from home army in Estero is clueless as to what teamwork is really about. Do us a favor a take your educated self to Avis.
Yes, the operators who have no education, and who’s job is to scan someone’s driver license and rent them a car know better than the educated people with real jobs. You nailed that one. I hope one day I can grow up to work in a parking garage too.
Good riddance to Fred, Alan and the three other RM leaders. Hopefully a preview of coming attractions. No more of RM being exempt from actions. The over paid, under delivering know-it-all’s must go. Please, polish up your CVs that will mean less takers for Arrington to lay off.
Hahahahaha these revenue management people are so mad. You guys are the absolute worst. So out of touch with operations. You all single handedly cost the company millions in opportunity dollars. What a joke. Yes let’s rent cars at 15 dollars a day at 99% Ute and when we’re at 60% let’s jack those prices up to 60 cause ERAC is at 62. ERAC messes with you guys all day with your archaic POS systems. You do more harm than good. argue with ops every chance you get to make yourselves feel like you have power and you matter. A monkey could do your job.
Nobody would hire you guys anyways. Go down with the ship you shot holes through yourself.
I don't think Darren has any idea what he's walking into. His revenue management meeting was a complete sh—show with him blaming RM for all of the tension between RM and Operations. In reality it's been the operators telling RM that they can't run higher than 70 or 80% rentable ute. He is totally clueless and alienated the entire RM team.
Paul getting rid of Fred, Alan and Dhruti was him cutting off his nose to spite his face. He got rid of the only competent people left so that he can have free reign. He hasn't made one right decision so far and f—ing with RM is the last straw. The entire RM team is polishing their resumes and interviewing as we speak. The company will not survive without revenue management because it was the last team holding everything together.
So you need to ask yourself whether Paul and Darren have some master plan to save us. The answer is more than likely no and they're just two bumbling id–ts with no clue how to run a company.
Dear Paul,
Please just find a way to liquidate this stupid, broke, and toxic organization. Kathy parading around for a few years pretending like Hertz was an actual legitimate business. It is your job now to just look at the 19 billion in debt, the uncertainty of future pandemic issues, declining market share, and no real options to ever recover. The thought that you and your foolish comrades were going to offer worthless stock to the public is clear that its time to open the bunker door and and surrender. Raise the white flag! Hertz is no more. All the remaining employees despise you, hate the organization, and the Hertz brand is as good as legitimate as OJ.
People! Enough already! Do you not see what is going on? There is no need for a revenue manager when there is no revenue! Paul is pulling out the feeding tube and turning off the oxygen. The plan is to liquidate this diseased corpse and put it out to pasture. Only a handful will be enriched before the coffin closes. Hertz is not a sustainable business any longer. The fundamentals no longer make any sense, and COVID only accelerated the inevitible.
To the guy whose replacing Fred—-You have no clue how CMS works because it didn’t exist when you were a “analyst”. You probably don’t even know pricing and yield are not two separate groups. No offense but not sure who thought to put you in charge and why they think you would fit.
Dear Paul, you are making all the wrong decisions. Ever since you stepped into your role, you have not done one thing other than show the whole company what a id–t you are. If people didn’t like Kathy, one thing for sure is they probably hate you more. Your last recorded townhall was terrible. You are the typical corporate leader with no rationale. Do you give a sh–? Do you give two sh–s?
What should have happen this week is Paul to step down and Fred to replace him.
They don’t know it but letting go of Fred, Dhruti and Alan is the tipping point for RM. I don’t think I’ve talked to one person who is planning to stay. Paul doesn’t know sh– about RM and doesn’t care. After yesterday, I’m pretty sure Hertz is going under
So Fred was replaced with Darren A?
A truly remarkable, stupid, dumb decision the C -Suite is now the F-Suite, in entirety.
I agree on Opal... Time for him to go. He has cost this company way too much money already.
When is Opal going to be shown the door with her buddy Deb. Spending over $200M with nothing to show for it. Been here for 2 years and we got nothing but a lame count down clock. The C-Suite is a joke these days. There is no future
The people that were let go were not greedy and well worth the value they brought to this company. Hertz has a lot of dead weight through the years but some of the recent changes blind sided many people. Others you would think and say, “that makes sense I guess”, recently they’re getting harder and harder to justify.
Job market is tough and the folks laid off back in March and April have already bounced back on their feet. I truly hope that these folks that are impacted find their way soon.
We’re human beings, with families and responsibilities.
Clueless leadership.
No they got what was coming. Greedy leeches!! Glad to see them go🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have you ever thought, wow this is all planned! Eliminate people handfuls at a time prior to liquidation so they can still reap the rewards of a severance package and not be on the list of those who brought the company down. Seems rather strategic if you ask me.
Imagine thinking that firing Fred, Alan and Dhruti was the right decision for the company. 3 of the best leaders this company has, and we get rid of them so we can coddle the operators. In the rare chance that either of the 3 of them see this, you didn't deserve this, and it was a pleasure working with you all
This whole situation is sad
get acquainted a**holes... http://www.floridajobs.org/
What happened to TNC?
Is Jeff Adams still there making millions?
Guy in-charge now, was relieved from this assignment just after we moved to Naples. Not that he had a clue then. Transplant from that failed acquisition, DTG. Will be hilarious to witness f—s flock to him as he seems to be a standoffish introvert.
Paul has lost his mind, his leadership team is now a joke..respect has gone, Fred is the final nail in the coffin particularly as the replacement is basically unqualified it’s Laura all over..never don’t a marketing job, now we have a head of revenue who’s a fleet guy and we are supposed to buy into this as positive.
Paul is a puppet for the board, Bobs next..
5 total. All director plus.
Actually at least three high ranking people in Revenue Management, including Fred.
One announcement about someone leaving and this whole page turns into an assumption
What positions? How many affected?
