It has started, with the flood of expats being sent back to Australia, and today all the Australian employees were told that voluntary redundancies are being offered throughout September.

Blame US law for lax worker protection where you can be let go for any reason whatsoever including the shady PIP. The reason why Australia is getting the VSS is due to better worker rights. Same thing in Europe u don't hear people mysteriously disappear from a PIP like Soviet Russia lol

This “behavior” needs to change but Then again we give billions in aid to other countries so who the hell is going to help us? This is something else that needs to stop. Aren’t other countries looking out for “number one”? I don’t see billions in aid coming into America.

No one thinks there will be packages in American we’ve already had a concealed lay-off with no packages.

LOL the whole point of America is to take care of #1 by pushing down everyone else. This behavior IS America my friend!

You think there will be packages in the US? Get real. There will be straight up layoffs with no packages, and your former coworkers will talk about how you deserved it when you got chopped as they get their next raise.

EM has too many worthless executives and managers. They need to reduce that first!

@lzv “ Americans should be ashamed. At what point did we stop caring about our own people. We pour more time and effort into advancing countries that are not for our interests. It would be better to come to this country as anything but American to reap the benefits”

💯 Make America Savage Again!

Would be interested to hear about the severance packages being offered in Australia, to gauge what might be offered in the US. I heard they might take away the lump sum option on pension after these voluntary separations. Like more of a stick than a carrot.

I sure hope they offer similar packages to the long suffering folks up in the great white north. Exxon's significant subsidiary in Canada, Imperial Oil is like a rudderless ship run unto the ground laden with a worthless cargo of highly paid Executives and countless Managers who are unemployable.

EMCC President Memo, sumarized:

  • Times are tough.
  • The company will be laying off.
  • Each Country/Group is different.
  • Australia VRP.
  • No EMCC impact right now.
  • We'll keep you posted.
  • Thanks for your hard work.

Not only Australia but all expats are ordered to return home. We have so many expats currently at EMHC from any different countries. Interestingly, we are going to send multiple US expats to BSC's to train lower-cost countries. That's the new game plan.
