Stx does not make or design SSDs. It is a reseller so low margins. That's the problem. Cloud is the only HDD opportunity and split among 3 companies and market is pressured by nand.
Consumers use SSDs nowadays, not hard drives. How is Seagate doing in the SSD marketplace relative to the competition?
$100m per q at low gross margin. Not going to save anyone
What are typical sales volumes on consumer drives? Does this make a material difference to the bottom line?
