Beware of a company who are always hiring, there is a reason for that.
Do people realize what company this still is. lol A few locations bring back a couple people, but don’t forget who we are dealing with. I’m not going to lie and say I “heard from a good source” but with this 60% OR goal by years end I wouldn’t be surprised to see some bigs layoffs especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’ll give them that little short term boost to possible avoid explaining another 70+% OR.

Lol. I find it funny when people try to justify all the furloughs at NS by saying c-ap like RRs have been furloughing during slow times since their creation. True, but they weren’t cutting people with 15+ years as we’re seeing at some locations. And the furloughs were intended for the long term viability of the company not for the CEO to create a short term stock rise for him to cash in on. But those were different times I guess. Back then, you didn’t love the CEO nor VPs but at least they somewhat started in the field as at least a trainmaster or supervisor. Now you have a lawyer in charge, that calls himself a long time Railroader, but all he’s been is a a clueless headquarters employee his entire career.
