Offshore comments should not be deleted. This is our reality at Anthem, layoffs are happening now with more in the future. IT managers are having to justify keeping work from going offshore, which is not easy. Morale is low, upper management has no loyalty or clue that they are trading quality workers for money savings.

I wish they would stop it with the Culture cr@p. Employee morale is already low enough and for those of us that are left with double the work load, piling on more useless 'Culture' assignments isn't helping anyone..... Get a clue HR...!!!
Getting a job is not as easy during COVID as it was in Pre-COVID. Most large companies are doing the same frequency of layoffs. If those same large companies are hiring, it is taking anywhere from 3-5 months to complete up to 6 rounds of interviews and get an offer if you’re lucky.
Don’t forget - especially post-COVID where there will be a significant increase in remote opportunities: the employee is still in the driver’s seat. It’s unbearably bad - which morale seems to be - leave Anthem for an employer who values you. Leadership is sending a strong message that associates are disposable; I’m honestly surprised there hasn’t been a mass exodus yet.
Look, let's be honest Anthem IT always s—ed not bc of the workers but the company culture. Every time I go to an IT director or above for assistance, I always get the DMV treatment. Every external software vendor talks sh– about Anthem IT. You basically have to be a VP to get help but let's be honest most Anthem VPs don't know sh– or are lazy thus the organization suffers and here we are getting rid of internal IT. In a way, it reminds me of the sloppy leadership that led to our selling our mail order pharmacy to Express Scripts. In fairness to Anthem leadership, they really don't have any other options to keep the false appearance of profitability to investors.
Buckle up. IT must deliver 70%/30% Legato to Anthem ratio staring 2021. The writing is on the wall.
The only thing that I would argue about here is, "upper management has no loyalty or clue that they are trading quality workers for money savings." They know exactly what they're doing. They just don't care.
Anthem’s issue is greed just like every other company. SalesForce just posted record profits - What was their next action - announcement of cutting 2k jobs.
The permanent tax cuts for corporations should be revoked. It’s not creating jobs. Companies are posting record profits and cutting jobs.
