Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Pip Fact

Did you know that your supervisor, in order to pass you on your pip, has to warrant that not only have you passed the specific pip requirements and so are no longer Needs SIgnificant Improvement, but also that you wont be Needs Improvement for up to 5 years! I look forward to hearing of a supervisor who is willing to do that!

We all know the PIP is not intended to pass, it's just a formality. The only reason I took PIP was to keep all my future legal rights. If you sign PIL paperwork and resign then you've signed all legal rights away. I will not resign or quit, I'm making them fire me. Plus it creates more hassle for my supervisor. Eventually a class action lawsuit will come about how ExxonMobil lied about the layoff to investors, the public, and govt after taking funding and getting help. I'll be available to sign up for it.

@OP+16EEtCnk - Yep. That's the reason I changed from wanting the PIP to taking the PIL, when it finally came to signing the papers. I felt that it was already complete BS that I was NSI'd and it seemed obvious that they could move me down to NI or NSI at will, any time in the next 5 years .... and then terminate me with no options for PIL or outplacement support.

So I regret that I am convinced that anyone who passes the PIP this time has only bought themselves another 6-12 months and those that escaped NSI in 2020, don't worry - your time will come.

Isn’t the purpose of PIP to waste management’s time and pretend you are doing work but find a job instead?

HR still has the cheek and provide standard answer to employees denying PIP is intended to lay off employee.
The brutal truth is Human Resource is not human protecting employees’ right, they are inhuman executing unethical lay off!

PIP is not here to improve your performance, it’s here to rid you from staying longer in EM

Supervisor is not immune to receiving PIP from their managers after they have PIPd you and show you out this November.
What goes around comes around!
My dear supervisor, let’s meet when you are being PIP soon.

The thought of surviving PIP is just giving employees false hope.

Fun fact! No one on PIP is going to pass it. Everyone currently on PIP WILL be let go in November.

@OP+16EEtCnk. The supervisor is given the leadership position for a reason. That is to lead and to coach and to make hard decisions. However, disguising layoff as PIP is unethical.

Any decent manager or supervisor already old their people not to take pip. It really is a lay-off.
