Even if it were 4 positions per store that would be 2,560. Not 1800 !

Not every store had all the positions that were eliminated. My store only "fired" 4 people back in 2018.

Several stores had 5 positions eliminated ( do YOUR research!) even if it were a MINIMUM of 4 per store , the number would be ( can you count?) 2560 ! STILL more than the lowballing 1800 they reported in the press. So, NICE TRY trying to spin it. A LIE is a LIE. But you keep trying there. Someone might believe you.

I told my local news that BN said after reporting only 1800 laid off in 2018 ( more like 3200 ! 5 positions eliminated in 640 stores) the press will believe anything they tell them.
I wrote to The NY Times & to Publisher’s Weekly, as well as pointing them toward this site.
I sent an email to the N.Y. Times yesterday, and, to give validity to my communication, I sent them a link to this site.
I have contacted the New York Times, Lohud, cheddar, and channel12 news. Hopefully they will run a story and show up at some of the stores. The layoffs are effective 9/4 so they may be waiting until then. Everyone should contact their news outlets.
Why haven't these layoffs been reported on the news? B&N is doing their best trying to keep it a secret.

I suggest everyone contacts their local news reporters to investigate and do a story. I have contacted several so. I would love to see my managers face when the news team shows up.
