Today Aetna laid off several long tenured employees, some with 25+ years experience. This specific department has been suffering from lack of work yet they chose to lay-off AMERICAN employees who support the AMERICAN economy rather than end contracts with the worthless off-shore staff in places like India and Philippines. It’s a disgrace and shameful.

Outrageous and Disgusting what is happening in our country. We need new leaders now.
AETNA/CVS employees in March 2021 in the Middletown CT data center lost their job too offshore. CVS eliminated half the data center department and gave the jobs to India. The worse part is some employees that got eliminated had to stay one month to train the group from India in order to get their severance and insurance. Most of the people that were laid off were there for 30-40 years and only got 13 WEEKS severance. I'm hearing that the lack of communication is difficult and processes take much longer now. Had much better response and better work from the employees that got laid off. Good luck CVS you laid off the best workers you had!
IT is mostly offshore. The most common response is they're paid less. Ok with that, you get what you pay for. The quality of work is horrible and there about 6 or more offshore for every 1 FTE. How does that work out financially when the work has to be fixed over and over? The company actually loses money. On top of that, male Indians bring their culture to U.S. They do not share their knowledge w woman, work well with woman and show much disrespect. We need big changes. CVS needs to retain Aetna FTE employees for their knowledge and forward thinking. Its why Aetna stock was in double digits. Look at it now.....
Or you might consider allowing the c-ap to flow to demonstrate the poor service. Unless it’s your job to correct c-ap, the long game would be to collaborate and improve quality that is planned not inspected in. That type of employee might have a new focus periodically but usually land on their feet.
So the offshore employees deliver acceptable results and automation is involved and those employees were willing to learn a new skill to make it a value for their customers . Every company you work for is your customer. Do what you can to earn your desk daily. This will continue to occur. Next time it will be another human onshore willing and able to be more productive for the next 20 years not entitled because of the last 20 years. Never stop learning and take care of yourself first. Good luck.

I cut and pasted what was written below.
former employee woodland hills california
aetna woodland hills is a collection of employees who have been there for a long time. Meaning all processes are outdated, which means no innovation, and work is doubled. No one is open to new ideas or processes. Senior employees feel that their time with the company allows for them to be unprofessional with no consequence. Management is afraid to speak up and correct those behaviors. this makes anyone new feel uncomfortable. The work could be less if their processes were improved. But, the environment is absolutely toxic and the pay is awful. I would not recommend working there.
I have recently been let go by aetna with a weak severance for a 9 week pay and help from a head hunter company that has not contacted me yet and I have 2 more weeks left with the company. I have been with the company for over 5 years and was a great worker and kept my performance to a all time high and my attendance is impeccable smh. I just don’t understand how they could do this saying they are reorganizing and need to let some people go. Ever since they sold there soul to CVS the company has been going down hill. CVS cares nothing about their employees not like how Aetna use to. I guess I can call this a blessing it’s time for me to move on
It's a Shame for sure. The offshore staff continue to take our work even though I spend most of my day correcting every single thing they touch. It would be understandable if they actually did a good job but they constantly mess up data. I hope they understand the lawsuits that will follow with data being entered incorrectly by them. Oh well cheap labor it is. I bet by the end of 2021 every position that can be done offshore will be sent there and way more layoffs will happen. Billion Dollar Company that lays off hard working American Employees for sub par replacements.
give more details about location and are they in IT , customer care or pharmacy . Company is an ocean ,
