If a BI adjuster was looking for a new position outside of Allstate and is interested in getting out of insurance altogether - what positions would the skills used in Allstate transition to? What job openings could be related but not in insurance? Trying to keep all options open at this point.

You can get a risk management position for with local County in their Risk Management division. People file property damage claims against the city/county all the time. Not exactly working for an insurance company but still respond to claims. Many of these County job also offers pension.

Reply to previous post. Nursing is probably better than getting a Masters. Having a Masters doesn't guarantee better opportunity. 2 of my friends at the age of 35 and 42 got their LVN/LPN license after 2 years of school. The pay is around $25 to $28/hr in CA. Lots of overtime and can be rewarding if you like that field. The good thing is job security, there are nursing homes, treatment facilities, clinics, in every mid size city. If you are outside of CA you can work in the hospital as LPN/LPN. CA hospital only hire RN. Good luck!
Anything in the medical field is lifelong job security. There’s lots of 2 year degrees in radiology, sonography, nursing , etc. Do it !
I’m thinking about possibly going to nursing school or getting my masters. I think my BI knowledge would help.
