Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Barnes and Noble is scared

Barnes and Noble is scared. Did you notice how the store manager was devoid of emotion and read from a script when they terminated you? Their General Counsel told them what to do. I was never even thanked for my years of service and I was a top performer.

My store manager was a cold hearted b**ch. we had gotten along very well. I guess she dreaded talking to me and others plus she knows how well connected I am. They are all worried about lawsuits and the business drying up. They won’t be able to get jobs.

“ What a bunch of dopes.
Yeah, good luck with that lawsuit.
Maybe stop whining and actually look for employment, instead of devoting all your energy to this job you despise.”
And I hope you stick around until BN goes under. Go down with the ship. The company will appreciate it !

My SM was actually very compassionate and kind... I have nothing against her personally. The company as a whole and James Daunt on the other hand...

My previous post was referring to the person calling us dopes.

When they fire you, remember that you thought your job was safe. They are going to cut you loose, thinking you are somehow safe at BN is fatalistic thinking. Just let that sink in.

Sue? For what? Most of the states in The United States are right to work (look it up if you don't know). Therefore, an employer can fire you at any time for any reason.

Let this go. Barnes and Noble's days are numbered, and most of you people didn't like working here anyway. It had become a habit. Use this time to constructively.

People should still try and sue them for whatever reason possible. I know there are people that keep immaculate records of everything happening in their store, names, stories, everything that goes on. Like we're talking full notebooks of information.

Of course, B&N can't afford to get sued anymore.

You need a solid case and a good lawyer and/or other victims to support you.
Unfortunately, most corporations are just as sleazy as B&N.
If we had a union years ago, things may have been different and B&N probably could have avoided some very bad decisions.

B&N can't afford to be sued. You really need a good case and lawyer or a group of people/other victims to support you.

We should've had a union years ago. This rotten company like many other corporations can pretty much do whatever they want.
