VICTIMS of being LAID OFF and Bad Management

As the company made changes through the years, such as doing away with leads, your store manager could have saved your job and gave you a new position. But many people who cost the company too much money are tossed out like bad garbage. They're doing the same now.

Our District Manager, now Regional Manager as of July is the worst, When one store was closing and all of those employees were being transferred to our store, our store manager asked her how were they going to deal with all these Leads? Her professional answer? Let them fight it out. Very classy, huh?

She also prevented one ASM, who has been with the company forever, from getting her own store because she hates her and didn't trust her. They share the same vindictive personalities. The irony? She did get her own store, but they both had to work in the same store! We all laughed about it.

Think their meetings will be a little awkward after this revelation?

Who is the Corporate COWARD on here?
Don’t know them by name. But, you can tell who they are by the callous, insensitive posts.

This was never meant to be a 20 year job.

That’s right, it’s a job for 20 year old part timers who have no invested interest in a downward spiraling company.

No doubt, half of you live in Mommy's basement, because you are
not living on B&N wages.

I've never seen such a whiny group of middle aged retailers,
expecting to be coddled and taken care of until retirement.

The world does not work that way.

You screwed up.
B&N didn't.

After 2018, if you stayed, you were foolish. If you joined to replace those they fired, it’s your turn now!
Not sorry for any of you. You knew what they were. You chose to stay. You had TWO YEARS to cover yourself.

What you say is TRUTH! I've witnessed it myself, & today my store manager called to tell me I'm out of a job after 20 years of working at BN. As of Sept. 4, 2020, I will be separated from the company. Nice, huh?

Anyone who reads this: Beware! Although some people may troll this thread & talk sh*t about BN & management, they're not far off the mark. Their gripes are specific to their experience, but, as of now, BN is letting go of the full-timers/leads & anyone else who's been employed there for many years.

Appreciation for loyal service is a thing of the past. It died with my parents' generation to never return again.

Good Luck to all of you.
