Haven't heard too much about Textbooks. Are they in operation? Are schools still purchasing new books?

Where purchasing e-books has not been popular. Streaming copies of ebooks is a growth industry. Students find a variety of torrent streaming options and they download their books for free. This isn't an Amazon thing. This is the students finding a way around the text book industry.
The bookstore model where follett pays the administration for their captive market (student body) is dead. Text books are a smaller and smaller part of the college bookstore business. Some students buy online, a lot of them torrent stream their books for free. The market hasn't been captive in 20 years. follett has never adapted or changed.
Actually physical textbooks continue the decline and will be gone within the next 5 years. Follett used to be most profitable with used books then new books, then rental and finally digital. Used books will be gone in the next few years. Rental continues to decline as well as new books. That leaves digital textbooks which is the only type of textbook that is growing. The benefits of digital books is no physical transportation costs, publishers can deploy directly to students and of course AMAZON! who is always cheaper than other retailers.
In your case, it appears that textbooks have always been dead.
