Here are some reviews from Glassdoor:
There is nothing positive to say about this company
Vindictive management from the top down. If you want the most stressful environment, you've found it!
Advice to Management
Reward the few talented people and fire the district managers who have made the company what it is today- worthless.
Once an enjoyable retail place to work, then great management came in to ruin niche market.
There were no real opportunities for growth within the company at the retail level. The location where I worked measured your success solely by how many memberships you could attain, which in theory seems like a good metric, however in practice it was not. Regardless of your persuasiveness, if someone has their mind made up, then they aren't going to purchase a membership.
Most of the employees were burnt out, and one was an outright racist. The pay wasn't sufficient, either.
Poor management, very low pay, no benefits, employee morale, safety and health code violations, discrimination and retaliation for reporting to HR (even if anonymously), random changes to the schedule without being notified.
Terrible supervisors and managers Very little PTO - only 10 days a year Health insurance very expensive Old office with old equipment
This is by far the worst place I have ever worked at. Managers are constantly micromanaging and when you try to speak to upper management, they don’t support you since they are all best friends with each other. There is no room for growth and it’s the same work over and over again. No bonuses for employees. My advice to management is to respect and treat your employees with respect, there’s a reason why whoever starts here quits the job within a year or so.
Seems like where I worked was corrupt as far as managers go. Again, very sketchy workplace. The way managers handled things was questionable. Unfortunately, people can get away with all sorts of things as managers. I'd not recommend this place to anyone with disabilities. I mentioned disability over the phone to one of the managers saying I needed to talk about it since it was affecting work. The next day I get called in the morning and they say "we are going to let you go." I went in to talk to the store manager (because I had questions) and they said (after extensive conversation about disability) "nooooo, we didn't fire you." Nice save. Again, if anyone has disability, this is not a friendly place to work. If you have disability (specifically mental illness), they'll put you on book stocking duty and tell you to not interact with customers.
I might also add, they (managers) claimed to not have known I identified as having disability, though it was marked in my application.
