Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT trying to save face while screwing American Workers

ATT is a global Telecom company, but make no mistake, it is first and foremost an American company based in Texas. The public has no idea what the company has been doing the past decade, which is getting rid of American jobs. Nonstop moving of jobs to overseas and 3rd party support companies. Lots of Texas and California based jobs have been shipped to Tech Mahindra India, and Malaysia while letting American employees go and keeping it all under the radar. Now they are flat out firing folks instead of a "layoff". ATT has been deceiving the public as they try to project their image as a great American company. They are about to have a PR nightmare that will hurt the public perception even more than ever. The entire line of executives down through all management is responsible for tanking of ATT. The ship is quickly sinking and the mo–nic so called leadership has no clue how to recover.

AT&T only answers to shareowners, not the public. AT&T will do well in protecting any reputations charges. Always do.

I wouldn't say they are preaching to 'gullible employees'. They are preaching to employees, but not all of them are gullible–I find that insulting. I can see through their lies just fine. BTW, anyone in the company can open webphone and punch in a country code and see if AT&T has badged employees outside of the USA, which they do and by the thousands. In Europe alone they have about 7K employees that before 2008 were here in the USA.

And it isn't just about jobs going overseas. You have to also include the in-USA contractors. For instance, after my most rfecent reorg (late March, I think), my new VP had 62% of his workforce in the form of contractors.

The sad thing is, the clowns at the top preach to the gullible employees that we are “family” and that sort of BS, the whole time sending our jobs, and our kid’s jobs to India. Do not believe a thing about hose creeps say. In fact, tell your representatives about AT&T’s off-shoring and H1B scams.
