Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Estee Lauder exiting some stores.

Lauder just announced massive staff cuts and closure of non-productive department store counters. Their future focus will be on digital sales not brick and mortar.

As this is new news, I have been unable to determine if this is only Lauder counters, or other brands and counters the Lauder corp. owns. They own a lot!

In any case...another indication...and it is truly nothing new...that stores as we knew them are obsolete and will disappear faster than the glaciers have done.

Be smart and be proactive. Take care of yourselves and family. Target, WallyWorld, even the big grocers like Publix, Amazon, all the phone companies and so so many other employers currently pay better, with benefits, than Belk. Work from home as a customer service rep for insurance and pharmaceutical companies. There are jobs out there!

When the ax falls, and it will, it will be fast, efficient and without mercy.

Stay safe, be well, and VOTE like our nation depends on it. She does.

I read about Lauder. Mac was in the group also. I don't know if they're pulling out of Belk though.
