I got laid off, got a decent package. Ended up At Google they actually appreciate PhDs, can easily talk to new boss. Got a 40% hike can work from home, moved to India, no issues this year, just lot more bankable $, ps lower taxes. Feels good not to have support older obsolete engineers thru FICA. Hope we get a Indian VP in USA soon. Voting by mail.

Intel has been doing "rolling" layoffs; several dozen or so people at a time–and spread out over several weeks, so that Intel isn't subject to The WARN Act.

It's just more scumbaggery from a floundering company.
