Rules and Agreements

Everyone continues to post all of those. At this point, if you have enough seniority to still be employed, you should realize that rules, laws, agreements, etc. do not apply to them. Promise whatever they wish, as long as there is no enforcement, they are all irrelevant.

Laws and CBA's take some creativity on their part to try and circumvent. Company policies however, written in black and white and presented to you throughout your career, mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I wouldn't even call them guidelines anymore at this point as they are subject to change on a whim and at their discretion, whether it's interpretation or complete disregard. Business is business and that means cutting jobs when they see fit. There is a way to do it tactfully and with empathy where you don't tarnish the shield and destroy everything the last 150 years built! though. Makes me sad to see what has become of a company I held so much love and pride for.
