Can you share which Murray Hill NJ groups in particular were cut?
After taxes, the severance is not much. Hanging around in Nokia/ALU for so long (without salary/bonus for years) wasn't worth it when you compare it against the severance amount. By now, anyone could have made the severance amount in two years or less (easily).
At this point, the H1Bs are making more then the Nokia full-time US Citizens employees. Isn't that sadly funny?
It is not bad at all leaving at this time, you still have severance package paid by Nokia, people will get nothing if they leave later.
