Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

I did a 'PEEP' !

And I liked it :) let me explain.
I have had a laptop (dell 7250) sitting in my desk drawer for close to a year. It was acting up and I was sent a replacement. I never got around to shipping it back, I did receive a couple email reminders but never got it done. We haven't seen an IT guy in our office for close to a year now so no one to give it to. Well guess what I did, slipped it in my purse and out the door I went. My son in law put in a new hard drive, install windows, and off I go. Thanks TT, it works great and a nice parting gift when my number comes up. Way I see it is if the PEEP could load up his pickup truck on his last day with dozens of laptops and get away with it, what they going to do to me. And thanks to the PEEP for giving me this idea, may you rest in peace Sir!

The peep made his own severance package, 10k in new and used laptops, loaded in the back of his pickup truck an hour after he got the infamous call that he was let go :) What happened to him ???? not a thing. SB and the security guard stood in the foyer and watched him load up the goods, security cams recorded the heist, in fact he even took the dolly he used to wheel the stuff out the door. The peep had balls I give him that! But anyway I am sure he wasn't the only one greasing his palm, SS who also worked out of twinsburg wasn't very honest either, he helped himself to a nice little gift when he retired :) Hey, is AB gone as well?

No judgement here - the fact is this - if WIN owes you a severance or final paycheck you will not get the $$ until the equipment assigned to you including security badge, keys, credit card etc is returned. So if you want to gamble your money on a trash laptop - you will reap who you sow.

I feel sorry for you, I really do. You can afford your OWN laptop, instead of stealing and boasting about it. When your number is up, may you have great difficulty finding another job - no one needs to employ a THEIF!!!!!

Never returned mine. When I left, they didn't return my things so I trashed the dead laptop. They never did anything for me, why bother

Not HR. Just an employee who values integrity and has concern for customers who are paying for services. Regardless of what executives have done I will always do the best work I can for our customers. No matter the final fate of Windstream I will know that I did the right thing.

Dear captive ILEC customer,
Please know that not all Windstream employees behave in such a despicable manner. Most of us are honest, hard working people who care about our customers. I am so sorry you have experienced bad service. We are in a very difficult time now and I truly hope you see an improvement when our issues are resolved.

I'm a captive ILEC customer.

This morning, 100s of employees couldn't place or receive calls for awhile.

We spend a ton of money on you all. We get wretched service in return (although the local folks give us their best shot).

No, I didn't like what your executives did.

But I also don't like what you did, @OP+165rRRuO. As far as I'm concerned, that's ratepayer money.

Taking that computer is nothing to be proud of.

"Thy shall not steal"

What do you call it when executives take in millions KNOWING that the company isn't doing well.
When you renew your contract and then magically file for bankruptcy the next day!

Take your moral compass elsewhere!!!

Most "OLD" laptops are not worth alot in the resale market. My old Dell had a know defect and I asked to keep it as a training PC for our team. I looked it up on eBay and the resale is only $50-100. Most of the old office electronics goto an eCycler and they strip them for parts. Who wants an old battery they have to pay to dispose of. In some states it's cheaper to give away old computers than it is to get rid of them the right way.

Our computers used to be on a 3 year or 5 years refresh. I don't think that is the case anymore unless your an executive.

So you think theft is an appropriate response to your dissatisfaction with how the company is being ran? It is theft no matter how you choose to justify it. You are no better than executive management ...just a thief on a smaller scale. Justify it however you like but it doesnt change what you are.
