I heard that someone might have had a moment of clarity and decided to keep (at least some) of the outside sales people...something about growing the organization. That gives me new hope if they really care about growing Allworx still.

"RM the cross hairs are looking at your poor decisions, you are next on the chopping block."

Poor decisions means he's setup for a promotion or bonus. That seems to be a recurring theme when bad decisions are made at the top.

"Was Allworx profitable?" Yes it was.

That business unit generated millions in profit every month for windstream. The executive that made the decision was under the impression that IP simple was the ONLY customer. That lack of understanding and vision by an SVP should get him fired on the spot. Like everything else here there is no accountability, let's give him another KERP bonus.

RM the cross hairs are looking at your poor decisions, you are next on the chopping block.

Dear SB - To quote Gomer Pyle "SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE" !
And I'll bet you thought it couldn't happen to you! LOL
Love,
All your friends in Twinsburg

All OfficeSuite and SD-WAN, everything else is getting shut down. Real easy to outsource all aspects of those products too as they are already doing it, dont need those pesky employees much longer.

Was Allworx profitable? Is it being sacrificed or was it a loser? What's the long-term plan? Trying to pretend that it might not be dead is worse than declaring it immediately. Who can confidently sell this now? What the hell am I going to use to replace it?

"Allworx developers are still employed."

This is only until they get new jobs. Software developers don't like just doing maintenance and they will probably leave for other jobs very soon. Not sure who they think will be providing bug fixes

Four or five IT managers got the axe. Directors and Senior VPs.

I lost my favorite sales engineer - very smart person. Not sure We'll continue with Allworx now - too many options out there. I was part of a big layoff in 2002 during the burst of the IT bubble and it was hard to find new work. I hope that all of those cut find their way to successful positions.

I hear this all of the time. Some VP made a decision without thinking about the implications
of it and what the fall out will be. I hope that net tech likes OT and not sleeping. We rid of all of these people and the work is still there.

Net techs and business techs in my footprint. I have my final interview monday, I am hopefully out of here. That will leave 1 net tech here.....not possible when we get called out 4-5 nights a week at 3am. Gonna have to buy my co-worker lunch when I break him the news that he is the last man standing. I would hate to be him.

Allworx developers are still employed. Sales staff have been cut severely. There is still support, warranty, RMA. There will be bug fix releases. New feature development is frozen. Hardware sales are still available, though Windstream sales continues to try to get people to buy OfficeSuite instead.

Ohh...Allworx is gone ...No more IP Simple then?

What happens to all of the customers I supported. Can I still call in
or get new handsets RMA'd? Are they no more? and closed the doors.

Rumor has it SB has been canned, so no more feel good messages from Twinsburg, perhaps.

Pretty much the entire Allworx side was let go today. Sales, support and management.

This all follows "Windstream announces preliminary Q2 results" I'm guessing they were not good.
Sales isn't selling unless you are in an ILEC footprint. Who needs business services when all of your employees are home. Everyone needs bandwidth at home not the office.
