Work From Home Permanent?

I agree with that there be permanent Work from Home for people in the Tri State area. That is one way of cutting expense with less office space. Some concerns on my part will be the following.

Working from Home in Tri State, does not necessarily mean your job is safe from reduction in force. On the contrary, I believe this will make it easier for them to cut expenses and move the WFH position to a low cost state.
WFH sounds great for everyone, but unfortunately we going to have people who are going to abuse it. Sure things looks good now, but eventually when the States are back to normal, the people will be out and the work won’t get done.
Most WFH people will be back office workers. I doubt the Traders or the Portfolio managers will be WFH permanently.
Zoom can only do so much, Teamwork within your group and outside your group will suffer in the long run. People are working together now, because of the Covid-19. Once that is done with I fear it won’t be the same.
Sorry to be a pessimist. It is just my opinion.
Let’s here other opinions out there.
Thank you

I'm not sure if it's still posted on contact but PZ, in his video, said no one would be forced to go back to the office. Not sure if that's smoke & mirrors or corp policy policy now?

I am in midwest with covid cases going up in our area. While no info on going back in office I have elderly family member with autoimmune disorder living with me, can we refuse to go back in the office if covid still problem in the area? My job is 100% same in office or at home.

WFH 2 to 3 days a week is good, not all the time

I hope people move out of NYC and drive my house value up, so I can sell and leave the area before it gets ruined by the influx of NYC people

Why does everyone want to work from home, what about the sanity you get from leaving your house every day. I bet all the people that want to work from home don't have young kids cause people wouldn't be complaining about going into the office

If that is true, then NYC will be a shell of its self. This will make more companies leave the city and be nothing left.
In concept WFH is a good idea, but in the long run will it really work? Will people become more efficient or lazy as time goes on?

I hope working from home will be permanent. Not all employees live near the NYC area. Heard only 40% of people will be returning to work from NYC at other firms. Some companies gave up their leases. The Tristate area is done. This pandemic and crime lately has drove people out to the suburbs north of NYC and the NJ suburbs/shore locations.
